SUMMARY:
We’re working with a well-established and fast-growing Renewable Energy EPC delivering large-scale commercial and industrial solar PV and energy storage projects across South Africa. Due to a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support the successful execution of multiple projects from design through to commissioning.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bridging the gap between engineering design and on-site project delivery, while working in a high-growth, impact-driven sector.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate electrical engineering aspects of solar PV and BESS projects across the full project lifecycle
Review and validate electrical designs, including single-line diagrams, layouts, and equipment specifications
Liaise with EPC teams, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure quality and compliance on-site
Support procurement by evaluating technical submissions and supplier proposals
Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems
Ensure compliance with local regulations, grid codes, and safety standards
Track project progress, budgets, and timelines, providing technical input to project managers
Act as a technical point of contact for clients, utilities, and internal stakeholders

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
2-5 years’ experience in electrical engineering within renewable energy, power systems, or infrastructure projects
Proven experience working on solar PV projects (C&I or utility-scale preferred)
Strong understanding of grid integration, inverters, transformers, and protection systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Experience with project execution, site supervision, and commissioning processes
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
