Our client is seeking to employ an Electrical Assistant to join their team. Please note that this is a fixed-term contract.

Duties & Responsibilities
Electrical Support:

• Assist qualified Electricians with electrical installations, maintenance, testing, and repairs.
• Support with the preparation, handling, and safe use of electrical tools, equipment, and materials.
• Assist with cable pulling, cable routing, cable tray work, and general electrical site preparation.

• Assist with identifying basic electrical faults under supervision.
• Support with routine inspections and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
• Report electrical defects, hazards, unsafe conditions, or equipment concerns to the supervisor immediately.

• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
• Ensure that work areas are kept clean, safe, and free from unnecessary hazards.
• Follow instructions carefully when working near live electrical equipment or restricted areas.

• Assist with the issuing, cleaning, and safekeeping of electrical tools and equipment.
• Ensure that tools and materials are stored correctly after use.
• Report damaged tools or equipment to the relevant supervisor.

• Assist with housekeeping in work areas, workshops, and site locations.
• Carry, move, and prepare materials required for electrical work.
• Work closely with Electricians, Artisans, Supervisors, and other team members to complete tasks safely and efficiently.

• Follow instructions from supervisors and qualified team members.
• Maintain professional and respectful communication with colleagues and clients.
• Provide support where required to ensure work is completed according to operational requirements.

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent will be advantageous.
• Relevant Technical and Vocational Training in Electrical Studies or Electrical Engineering will be advantageous.
• Previous experience as an Electrical Assistant or in a similar technical environment will be advantageous.
• Basic understanding of electrical tools, materials, and safety procedures will be beneficial.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
• Must be willing to work in the Benoni area.
• Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work as part of a team.
