Build Education Sales Manager
Build and prove the outbound sales process before recruiting, coaching and leading a five-person Sales Development Executive team targeting UK state schools.
Cape Town | Hybrid initially, transitioning to Office-Based | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM UK time, including a 1-hour lunch break | R35,000–R45,000 per month based on experience + 5% Commission Override + ~£50,000 Bonus Potential upon achieving team sales targets

Our client is an innovative technology company operating within regulatory risk management. The business has developed an automated compliance platform designed to help organisations fulfil their obligations under Martyn’s Law (Terrorism Protection of Premises Act).
With over 99% of the market currently non-compliant and a strict legislative deadline approaching, the business is executing a high-velocity commercial campaign focused on approximately 10,000 UK state schools.
The company is also expanding its suite to include Health & Safety and Fire Compliance tools.
THE ROLE: EDUCATION SALES MANAGER
The Education Sales Manager will operate as a hands-on “player-coach.” Initially, you will personally conduct outbound calls to test scripts, refine messaging, understand education decision-maker behaviour and establish the core CRM and sales playbook.
Once the sales engine is proven, you will recruit, onboard and lead a dedicated team of five Sales Development Executives to execute high-volume, multi-channel outreach at scale. You will own pipeline management, coach the team and drive revenue towards a target of 500 converted school accounts.
As the product suite expands, you will also help transition client relationships into recurring upsell and account management opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Make direct outbound sales calls initially to build, test and prove the sales process before scaling the team.
- Test and refine outbound sales scripts and messaging.
- Develop an understanding of education decision-maker behaviour.
- Establish the core CRM and sales playbook.
- Build sales assets from scratch, including scripts, battle cards and objection-handling guides.
- Set up CRM workflows, sales funnels and performance KPIs covering outbound activity, pipeline stages, conversion rates and revenue.
- Recruit and onboard a dedicated team of five Sales Development Executives once the sales engine is proven.
- Lead and coach the SDE team as a hands-on player-coach.
- Execute high-volume multi-channel outreach at scale through the sales team.
- Manage the sales pipeline and maintain strong pipeline forecasting.
- Conduct daily call coaching and 1-on-1 reviews.
- Conduct pipeline reviews.
- Ensure rigorous adherence to sales activity, pipeline, revenue and conversion KPIs.
- Drive team revenue towards a target of 500 converted school accounts.
- Help transition client relationships into recurring upsell and account management opportunities as Health & Safety and Fire Compliance tools are introduced.
- Work alongside centrally supported automated email campaigns, direct physical mail and targeted LinkedIn messaging.
ABOUT YOU
- Demonstrated success in personal B2B outbound telephone sales.
- Hands-on leadership experience managing, coaching and scaling SDR, inside sales or telesales teams.
- Ability to personally make sales calls initially to build and prove the sales process before scaling and leading a team.
- Experience setting up sales infrastructure, CRM workflows, sales funnels and performance metrics covering activity, pipeline, conversion rates, revenue KPIs and forecasting.
- Experience conducting call coaching, pipeline reviews and 1-on-1s.
- Experience developing sales playbooks, scripts, battle cards and objection-handling guides.
- Strong analytical understanding of sales funnels and conversion metrics.
- Strong pipeline forecasting skills.
- Desirable: SaaS or EdTech sales experience targeting UK school leadership and Head Teachers.
- Desirable: Prior experience selling SaaS or technology products into UK schools/state education.
- Desirable: Experience managing a sales team targeting senior education stakeholders, such as Head Teachers.
- Desirable: Prior experience building or scaling a sales function from scratch in an early-stage startup environment.
- Desirable: Ability to bring or recommend high-quality sales professionals from an existing network.
WORKING HOURS & BENEFITS
