Role Overview
The Position will play a pivotal role by implementing the group''s biodiversity and landscape integration policy in order to guarantee the integration of Séché Environnement’s activities in Southern Africa. This role consists of studying, monitoring and promoting biodiversity on the group''s sites with the operational activity’s teams. The Incumbent will also be responsible for formalizing and managing biodiversity conservation areas in terms of biodiversity stewardship agreements and in line with biodiversity management plans.

Key Responsibilities
- Defining, organising and prioritising the management of green and natural spaces with the various departments in the organisation.
- Create and/or lead design of a landscape master plan to promote biodiversity on the sites and to establish the management/maintenance method for the areas (green, natural, industrial, etc.) which allows the biodiversity and industrial activities to thrive while being respectful of the environment.
- Carry out and/or oversee the implementation of the landscape master plan (planting program and implementation of differentiated management).
- Advise and support operational activities and managers on the integration of the site within the organisations Biodiversity procedures and historical view, and on maintaining biodiversity when carrying out various projects.
- Carry out and/or oversee the monitoring of the landscape and biodiversity integration approach (management system, certifications, fauna/flora/habitat monitoring, specific indicators, specific and regulatory reporting, meeting monitoring, etc).
- Establish a relation of trust with stakeholders.
- Carry out and/or oversee the continuous improvement of procedures (at group and site level).
- Participating in impact studies to provide its expertise.
- Participate in tenders whenever a biodiversity maybe a subject.
- Communicate on biodiversity issues and how biodiversity is taken into account within the company.
- Participate in and/or lead group projects relating to biodiversity (voluntary commitment, indicators, certification, etc.).
- Establish a relation of trust with stakeholders.
- Developing and conducting and adapting fauna and flora follow up protocols ( observation).
- Integrating sustainable development and corporate social responsibility values: respect for the environment, equipment and working relationships.
- Ensure all company Policies, Strategies, Objectives, Systems, Controls, Mitigations, Procedures and Initiatives which will be and are implemented currently, align into one or more of the above sections of the ISO Management System.
- Ensure Compliance with all ISO requirements and ensure continued compliance to ensure ISO accreditation is achieved.
Minimum Requirements
- Masters in Environmental Science, preferred.
- BAC+5 / Engineer with knowledge of biodiversity (flora and fauna) and ecology or equivalent (or Geography / regional planning
- Knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 ISO 45001:2018, OHSAct, NEMA, biodiversity regulations
- Excellent Proficiency ability in Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Own transport and flexibility to travel.
