Earthworks Supervisor

SUMMARY:
The Earthworks Supervisor assists the Earthworks Foreman in supervising and co-ordinating the work of their subordinates in the excavation and hauling of materials to create the ideal base
for construction works. The Earthworks Supervisor will assist in ensuring that works are completed as per project programmes, within the set timeframes and to the correct quality standards.

POSITION INFO:
Our client in the construction industry is looking for an Earthworks Supervisor to join their team for a 6 months contract in Western Cape, Grootfontein.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist in supervising earthworks teams on Site
• Follow schedules and supervise daily tasks of subordinates
• Ensures that all resources (people, plant and materials) are scheduled, planned and or ordered timeously as per Company protocols and processes
• Liaising and supporting the Foremen on Site
• Ensures that records are completed accurately – daily diaries, HSE paperwork,
• attendance registers, order forms, amongst others
• Ensures safety standards and guidelines are followed
• Troubleshoots routine issues
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read drawings
• Ability to motivate and supervise team members
• Good problem-solving skills

• At least 3 years’ experience as an Earthworks Supervisor

• Must have a clear criminal record (Client Requirement)
• Must have a valid drivers licence
• Must be medically fit
• Must be available immediately to take up these opportunities
• Must be willing to work away from home for contract period (with opportunities to come home for 4 days each month for the R&R period)
• Must be South African Citizen
