Earthmoving Technician

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Earthmoving Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of heavy earthmoving equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on earthmoving machinery
• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
• Repair and overhaul engines, transmissions, axles, and hydraulic systems
• Conduct fault-finding using diagnostic tools and software
• Attend to breakdowns on-site when required
• Complete job cards and service reports accurately
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition

Equipment Experience (Advantageous)

• Excavators
• Bulldozers
• TLBs
• Front-end loaders
• Graders
• Articulated dump trucks
• Compactors

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic (Trade Test essential)
• Minimum 3–5 years’ post-trade experience on heavy earthmoving equipment
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical systems
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
