EPLAN design draughtsman

POSITION INFO:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled EPLAN Draughtsman to join our growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about electrical design and wants to work on challenging projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and panel layouts using EPLAN Electric P8.
• Develop and maintain electrical design documentation for LV switchboards, MCCs, control panels, and automation systems.
• Prepare bills of materials (BOMs), terminal plans, cable schedules, and manufacturing documentation.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant electrical standards, customer specifications, and company design practices.
• Liaise with electrical engineers, project managers, workshop personnel, and procurement throughout the project lifecycle.
• Revise and update drawings based on engineering changes and client requirements.
• Support manufacturing teams during panel assembly and factory acceptance testing.
• Maintain drawing revisions and document control procedures.
• Assist in standardizing electrical designs and improving engineering efficiencies.

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma, N6, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Draughting.
• Minimum 3 years' experience using EPLAN Electric P8.
• Experience designing LV switchboards, motor control centres (MCCs), distribution boards, or industrial control panels.
• Strong understanding of electrical components, protection devices, PLC I/O, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical specifications and engineering standards.
• Good understanding of manufacturing and panel-building processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent attention to detail and document accuracy.
