POSITION INFO:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Clerk of Works to oversee and ensure the quality, compliance, and safe execution of electrical and instrumentation installations on-site. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all works are carried out according to design specifications, relevant standards, and project requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities

Inspect and verify E&I works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Supervise and monitor contractors to ensure adherence to approved procedures and project schedules.

Review and comment on test packs, drawings, and redlines, ensuring as-built documentation is accurate.

Conduct inspections during installation, termination, and commissioning stages.

Verify calibration certificates and conformity of instruments and equipment.

Report any deviations or non-conformances to project management and assist in resolving issues.

Participate in safety walks, audits, and ensure all site activities comply with safety regulations.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, and progress for reporting purposes.

Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to drive quality and productivity improvements.
Experience & Qualifications

National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in E&I construction supervision, inspection, or quality control within industrial, petrochemical, or energy environments.

Strong understanding of SANS, IEC, and relevant international electrical and instrumentation standards.

Proven experience with QA/QC procedures, loop checks, and commissioning processes.

Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

A valid driver’s licence and willingness to work on-site.
