About the Role

We are looking for a commercially driven E-Commerce & Marketplace Manager to take ownership of the online marketplace channels and drive sustainable sales growth across South Africa's leading e-commerce platforms.

This role is responsible for managing and optimising the online presence across Takealot, Amazon SA, Makro Marketplace, OneDay Only, Bob Shop, Loot and future marketplace opportunities.

The successful candidate will combine strong marketplace management skills with a strategic, sales-focused mindset to maximise online revenue, improve customer experience and identify new growth opportunities.

Working closely with the Sales, Marketing, Procurement and Warehouse teams, you will ensure accurate product listings, effective promotional campaigns, optimal stock availability and exceptional marketplace performance.
 
Key Responsibilities
Marketplace Management:

• Manage and optimise all online marketplace accounts including Takealot, Amazon SA, Makro Marketplace, OneDay Only, Bob Shop and Loot.
• Create, upload and maintain accurate product listings, including product descriptions, images, pricing, categories and specifications.
• Ensure all marketplace content is optimised using marketplace SEO best practices.
• Monitor account health, marketplace performance metrics and compliance with platform policies.

• Develop and implement strategies to increase online sales and market share.
• Identify opportunities to improve product visibility, conversion rates and customer acquisition.
• Monitor competitor pricing, promotions and marketplace trends.
• Recommend new products, product bundles and promotional opportunities to drive revenue growth.

• Plan and manage promotional campaigns across all marketplace platforms.
• Manage marketplace advertising, including Takealot Sponsored Products and Amazon Ads.
• Monitor advertising performance and optimise campaigns to maximise return on investment.
• Collaborate with the Marketing team to execute seasonal and promotional campaigns.

• Work closely with Procurement and Warehouse teams to ensure stock availability across all online channels.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with forecasting to minimise stock shortages.
• Resolve listing issues, pricing discrepancies, customer queries and marketplace-related challenges.
• Ensure product information and pricing remain accurate across all platforms.

• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on sales performance, marketplace activity and advertising results.
• Analyse customer behaviour, sales trends and conversion data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Track key performance indicators and provide recommendations to improve online sales performance.

• 3–5 years' experience managing e-commerce marketplaces.
• Proven hands-on experience with Takealot Seller Portal (non-negotiable).
• Experience managing Amazon Seller Central.
• Strong understanding of online marketplace optimisation and marketplace SEO.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience managing online product catalogues and inventory.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Commercial mindset with a passion for growing online sales.

• Experience within Retail, Consumer Goods, FMCG or Stationery.
• Experience with Shopify or WooCommerce.
