JOB DESCRIPTION:

To supervise and control the restaurant and bar ensuring that service is prompt, efficient, professional and courteous; at all times bearing in mind the comfort and well-being of guests. A prestigious establishment is looking to employ a Duty Manager / Restaurant Manager who would act as an assistant to our F&B Manager. Strong emphasis is placed on F&B capabilities, as well as restaurant management. Also, the successful candidate would hold sound supervising capabilities. And your guest orientation would be valued highly

Responsible for: Waitrons, Head Waiter & Barmen/women

Duties:

ensure that guests are met, greeted and allocated tables courteously.
ensure that the service of food and drinks is professional.
confirm that tables are correctly set and that table appointments are impeccable.
make sure that all stations have their correct mise-en-place.
confirm that table allocation procedures are strictly adhered to and that preferences of regular customers are respected.
be readily available at all times to deal with problems or complaints.
continually respond to the needs of the customer.
ensure maximum restaurant occupancy within overbooking
make certain that reservations are taken correctly and courteously.
guarantee that all charges are correctly entered on the guests bill
all FOH staff are correctly and smartly dressed
make sure that FOH areas are clean and tidy.
ensure that in-coming calls are handled promptly and courteously.
To carry out systematic checks of all FOH areas for Maintenance requirements, repairs or refurbishing, ensuring that these are actioned without delay.
Conduct regular performance appraisals, identifying areas for development and training needs and ensuring that this training is effected.

Qualification

Must hold a matric + related qual

Experience

Min 5 yrs related exp

Soft Skills

Sound management skills
Ability to multi task
Well established communication skills
