SUMMARY:
The Draughtsman supports both the Panel Manufacturing and Projects businesses by producing accurate, manufacturing ready mechanical drawings, coordinated Revit shop drawings and reliable material information. The role translates approved design intent into door, component and insulated-structure details; builds controlled bills of material for SYSPRO; prepares approval and construction drawing packages; and extracts project quantities for panels, doors, flashings, fixings and related materials.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities
Manufacturing, Door and Component Detailing

Develop accurate 3D models, assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings for insulated doors, frames, panels, hardware interfaces, brackets, profiles and related components using Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks
Produce complete fabrication information, including dimensions, tolerances, materials, finishes, weld details, fasteners, cut-outs and assembly requirements.
Work closely with the doors and engineering teams to resolve design details, improve manufacturability and standardise repeatable components and drawing templates.
Incorporate approved thermal-design requirements into door and insulated-envelope details, including insulation continuity, thermal bridging, vapour sealing, condensation risk, gaskets and heated components where applicable.

JOB EVALUATION CRITERIA
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Secondary Education
Matric / National Senior Certificate with Mathematics or Technical Drawing preferred.
Minimum Tertiary Qualification
A recognised diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Draughting, Computer-Aided Draughting, BIM or a closely related field. An N4-N6 engineering qualification combined with a recognised draughting qualification may be considered.
Experience
Minimum 5 years' relevant post-qualification experience in technical draughting/detailing, including demonstrated delivery in both manufacturing/mechanical CAD and building/project BIM environments.
Mandatory Software Capability
Demonstrated, portfolio-supported ability in Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks, together with Autodesk Revit. Candidates must be able to work independently in both 3D mechanical CAD and Revit-based BIM/shop-drawing workflows.
