A well-established company operating within the aluminium manufacturing and fabrication industry is seeking an experienced Draughtsman to join their team in the Cape Farms area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate technical, production and fabrication drawings to support manufacturing and production requirements.

POSITION INFO:

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical, production and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD.
• Produce accurate drawings according to manufacturing and production specifications.
• Interpret architectural, engineering and technical drawings.
• Prepare drawings for aluminium fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Develop detailed component, assembly and fabrication drawings.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy before production.
• Make amendments and revisions to drawings when required.
• Ensure drawings contain correct dimensions, materials, tolerances and manufacturing information.
• Liaise with production, fabrication and technical teams regarding drawing requirements.
• Assist production teams with technical drawing queries.
• Ensure drawings are practical and suitable for manufacturing and fabrication.
• Maintain accurate drawing records and revision control.
• Work from measurements, sketches, specifications and existing technical documentation.
• Assist with material calculations and technical information where required.
• Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and customer specifications.

Minimum requirements

• 2–3 years' relevant draughting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD is essential.
• Proven experience preparing production and fabrication drawings.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications.
• Good understanding of dimensions, measurements, tolerances and manufacturing processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.
• Experience within the aluminium, fabrication, engineering or related manufacturing industry will be advantageous.
• Candidates must already reside in Cape Town, preferably within reasonable travelling distance of the Cape Farms area.
