Distribution Assistant

POSITION INFO:
We’re looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Distribution Assistant to support the smooth and efficient operations of a busy warehouse and distribution team. This position plays a key role in validating outbound goods, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring seamless day-to-day logistics.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Administration & Coordination: Allocate picking slips based on daily routes. Maintain and reconcile picking slip registers. Prepare documentation for invoicing and dispatch. Handle PODs (proof of delivery) and ensure correct filing
• Accuracy & Stock Control: Check stock picked matches picking slips (quantity, product, batch). Ensure correct stock and batch numbers are loaded onto trucks. Participate in weekly and monthly stock takes. Monitor order maintenance and ensure timely, accurate invoicing
• Customer Service: Handle internal and external queries professionally and timeously. Provide clear and accurate handovers to drivers and customers. Make delivery bookings when required
• Operational Support: Assist with route planning and daily trip sheet preparation. Maintain a clean and hazard-free working environment. Promote health and safety best practices at all times. Contribute to continuous improvement through reporting and feedback

• Matric (Grade 12)- completed
• 2–4 years’ experience in a distribution/warehouse environment
• Basic math skills and computer literacy (MS Office)
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy standards
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Knowledge of warehouse systems and procedures
