Dispatch Manager

SUMMARY:
Our manufacturing client in Pretoria West is looking to employ a Dispatch Manager ASAP!

POSITION INFO:

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Warehouse Foreman is responsible for the effective and efficient operations of the dispatch and warehouse area, which includes but is not limited to staff, time and attendance, reporting processes, stock, quality and loading.

GENERAL
• Enforce Strict company standards and rules- responsible to make sure that company policies and procedures as well as rules are implemented
• Do at least two site inspections on dispatch per week after hours
• Report all incidents and irregularities to the operational manager

DISPATCH
• Oversee the dispatch teams, shift foremen and hospital driver.
• Make sure the factory sales customers have been assisted.
• Liaise with the logistics manager regarding trucks that need to be loaded.
• Make sure that the shift on duty is conversant with the requirements for the shift.
• Make sure all GRNS and related paperwork is processed as soon as possible, if not on the same day then on the following day
• Credit notes must be kept to the minimum and addressed without fail
• Backorders must be avoided, proper communication must be maintained with the factory to minimize this.

WAREHOUSE
• Liability forms and investigations must be overseen, signed off in full and submitted to the administrative employees.
• Keeping the warehouse clean, neat and organized-responsible for housekeeping and overseeing that the warehouse merchandiser performs his duties.
• Responsible for the monthly preparations of the warehouse for stock take, including the arrangements to have people available to do the stock take.
• Make sure strapping is up to date.
• Make sure the roofing area is kept clean and record and report aged/cancelled roofing.
• Make sure the trains are off loaded as quickly as possible.
• Ensure that stock is strapped, packed away and that trolleys are returned to production.
• Manage the specials shelf; specials must be signed off and follow up on old specials
• Manage stock levels; ensure that stock is at a maximum level and report low stock levels to the production foremen
• Ensure dispatch and warehouse floors are washed at least twice a week, managing the use of weighting and scrubbing machines and doing regular nspections.

Other
• Submit payroll on time and in full for both in-house and outsourced employees.
• Do in-depth investigations for Liability Queries
• Ensure video footage for all liabilities above R500 is saved and available on the drive when queried
• Prepare Exco reports for line manager on a monthly basis
• Ensure trucks are checked for cleanliness and tags are issued correctly
• Ensure Crane operators timeously remove roof sheeting between the Roofing lines so that production can continue without pause
• Keep track of dunnage bags produced and ensure payment is authorized and payed out to supplier
• Print attendance registers on weekly basis and ensure they are completed accurately.
• Ensure accurate and correct scheduling of dispatch team according to the needs of the business.
