OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Our Client is one of the world’s largest data, insight & research company with an international network and they are looking for an innovative, energetic, hands-on marketing thinker with a passion for brands & insight, and on interest within the Financial Services sector.

This Brand Director will join their leadership team, who consult to clients on strategic and fresh solutions to their toughest marketing questions. 

The role leads a team of about 15 consultants in Brand Growth Strategy, including teams working on Positioning, Culture, Futures, Innovation, CX and other brand challenges.

The suitable candidate is comfortable in the intricacies of brand strategy, enjoys unconventional insight, and has a real passion for brands. The candidate is also a great commercial marketer who understands the dynamics of growth and marketing, having themselves led big brands at Marketing Director level or above.

The role includes leadership of a relationship with one of our largest clients (a leading Financial Services brand) in a close partnering style, working on projects and day-to-day strategic support to very senior client leaders, with a team of experts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client relationship leadership: The Directors lead important client relationships, building deep trusted partnerships with our key clients. This will include brood strategic support, relationship-building, sales, opportunity-hunting in the client, as well as taking and interpreting briefs into our organization, writing proposals, selling solutions to win business, and leading thinking on solutions to our client’s briefs. t.

Solution leadership: The Directors are hands-on, strategic leaders in crafting applied solutions to client briefs, using their experience and strategic skills to deliver the convincing, innovative solutions that bring clients back to our teams over and over. This comprises:

  • Strategic & inspiring brand thinking, making significant contributions to finding solutions for our clients ''marketing challenges by demonstrating a strong affinity for consumers and brands, as well as fresh and inspiring
  • Participating in and interpreting consumer insight: (ep. Stakeholder interviews, in-depth consumer interviews, groups, quant data) along with project teams
  • Writing & presenting intellectually convincing & emotionally appealing proposals & debriefs: Good presentation skills ore essential to deliver confident,  articulate, energetic
  • Extensive experience in Facilitation — the ability to be an assertive lead facilitator of workshops & client co-creation sessions, guiding teams and aligning clients in live, high pressure situations to create powerful business & marketing solutions

.This person must have: 

  • A proven marketing track record: An experienced marketer and/or strategist, involved in diverse aspects of marketing and commercial Strong skill base in brand and marketing strategy (including market segmentation, brand positioning, brand portfolio management, brand strategy and innovation) with developed points of view about brands and branding. Strong appreciation of consumer insight and exposure to consumer understanding approaches (e.g. qualitative research, quantitative research), coupled with natural curiosity.
  • A passion for brands: We are looking for someone with a real passion for marketing and the understanding of the role brand’s play in people’s lives and the ability to translate this into action — someone who thinks about the actual application and actionability of insight to marketing application.
  • Creative ideas and a strong point of view: someone who thinks creatively and is happy to push the boundaries/ challenge conventional research methodologies and thinking on a project by project basis to deliver cutting edge solutions as part of a team who love a challenge.
  • Natural cultural awareness and curiosity about consumers, culture & brands: Assimilates the impact of culture into project design and output.
  • Proven people skills: a great communicator, able to collaborate and build relationships with both clients and our team. Strong written and verbal skills for proposal and presentation
  • Strong new business and commercial aptitude: Able to understand financials and deliver profitable Be responsible for the client relationship, income and profitability— build and grow sustainable relationships, identifying and understanding the long term needs of the client business
  • Experience: minimum of 15 years brand marketing experience, with lost/current position at Marketing Director level or Work in a Financial Services client is an advantage, but on interest and passion for the category is sufficient. University degree strongly preferred. Additional experience in a consultancy environment of some sort — selling solutions, solving brand problems, writing proposals - is highly advantageous.
  • Prior Consulting experience is highly advantageous in performing this role
