SUMMARY:
We are currently recruiting for a skilled Diesel Mechanic on behalf of a reputable client operating in the heavy earthmoving and mining equipment sector. This role is suited to a dedicated artisan with strong technical expertise and a proactive approach to maintenance and breakdown support in demanding environments.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:

Service, maintain, and repair heavy earthmoving equipment including excavators, dump trucks, graders, and loaders
Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out efficient repairs to minimize downtime
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
Conduct engine overhauls, hydraulic repairs, and component replacements
Attend to breakdowns on-site and in the workshop
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards and OEM specifications
Accurately complete job cards and maintenance reports

Requirements:

Trade Test Certificate as a Diesel Mechanic
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working on heavy earthmoving or mining equipment
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and powertrain systems
Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Valid driver’s license
Willingness to work overtime and travel to sites when required

Advantageous:

Experience working with multiple OEM brands (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo)
Exposure to field service operations
Basic electrical and diagnostic software knowledge
