Diesel Mechanic

SUMMARY:
Our client, a well-established company within the edible oils manufacturing industry based in Johannesburg, is seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their maintenance team.

POSITION INFO:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, diagnosis, and repair of diesel-powered equipment, with a strong focus on Bobcats and TLBs (Tractor Loader Backhoes).

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Trade Test preferred).
• Minimum 5 years'' experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• Proven experience working on and repairing Bobcats and TLBs.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose faults efficiently and perform repairs independently.
• Valid driver''s license.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet maintenance deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel-powered machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on Bobcats and TLBs.
• Carry out repairs and component replacements as required.
• Perform breakdown repairs to minimize operational downtime.
• Inspect machinery to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety standards.
• Assist with workshop housekeeping and equipment management.
• Liaise with management regarding equipment performance and maintenance requirements
