Diesel Mechanic

SUMMARY:
A leading luxury game reserve is hiring a highly capable and qualified Diesel Mechanic to join its operations team. This position is crucial in ensuring the ongoing performance and safety of all diesel-powered vehicles and machinery used in the daily functioning of the lodge and conservation area.
You’ll be responsible for servicing and repairing a fleet that includes Land Cruisers, tractors, water pumps, and backup generators. This is a hands-on role ideal for a skilled tradesman who enjoys bush life and takes pride in maintaining equipment to the highest standard.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on diesel vehicles and equipment
• Diagnose mechanical faults and perform repairs efficiently
• Maintain accurate service records and order necessary parts and consumables
• Monitor wear and tear and implement proactive maintenance schedules
• Ensure that all vehicles are safe, clean, and ready for guest use
• Support the broader reserve operations team where necessary

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic with Trade Test Certificate
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working on 4x4 vehicles and heavy-duty equipment
• Experience with Land Cruisers, Massey Ferguson tractors, water pumps, and generators is advantageous
• Self-motivated and resourceful with a strong safety mindset
• Physically fit and able to work in outdoor, remote environments
• Valid driver’s license essential
