Debtors Controller

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:
My client is seeking a proactive and detail-driven Debtors Controller to support the effective management of the group’s debtor’s function. This role is key to optimising cash flow by closely monitoring debtor balances, enforcing credit and collections policies, and maintaining strong professional relationships with both internal teams and external clients.

This role is based in Stellenbosch, Western Cape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide reporting and operational support to the Debtors Manager
• Review and validate daily client and supplier remittance allocations
• Coordinate bi-annual and annual audits with the group’s financial service providers
• Act as backup support to the Invoicing Team and Debtors Clerk when required
• Engage with clients daily regarding outstanding balances, payments and receipts
• Ensure daily, weekly and monthly statements and reports are accurately issued to clients
• Follow up on and assist in resolving client account queries timeously
• Review daily bank reconciliations and investigate variances
• Distribute daily debtor balances to relevant internal stakeholders
• Manage client credit limits and payment terms in line with forecasted volumes
• Assist with client credit insurance applications and ongoing management
• Support communication with banks and brokers regarding insured accounts
• Oversee and manage account allocation (AA) processes
• Take responsibility for intercompany recoveries and balance confirmations
• Liaise closely with internal operations teams on volumes, billing and expected payments
• Assist with the processing of daily, weekly and monthly payments
• Support FOREX-related transactions and administration
• Attend to ad hoc finance and debtors-related tasks as required

• Grade 12 / Matric, with Mathematics and/or Accounting as subjects
• Relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous
• Strong computer literacy in a high-tech environment, particularly G-Suite and Microsoft Office
• Experience with Pastel Evolution and/or Sage Intacct will be beneficial
