SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Debtors Clerk to join our finance department. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Accounting or Finance and between 3 to 5 years’ experience in a debtors/accounts receivable role. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring accurate allocations, and maintaining a healthy cash flow through effective collections and account management.

POSITION INFO:
Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintain and manage the full debtors’ ledger
Follow up on outstanding invoices and ensure timely collections
Allocate payments accurately and reconcile customer accounts
Prepare and distribute customer statements
Perform regular age analysis and report on overdue accounts
Resolve customer queries efficiently and professionally
Assist with credit applications and credit limit reviews
Process journals and adjustments where necessary
Support month-end closing and reporting processes
Maintain accurate records and filing systems

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
3–5 years’ experience in a debtors/accounts receivable role
Strong knowledge of debtors and collection procedures
Experience working on accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Pastel, or similar)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong communication and negotiation skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
