SUMMARY:
My client, a reputable player in the chemical manufacturing industry, is seeking a meticulous and organised Debtors Administrator to join their finance division in Durban. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the effective management of accounts receivable within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

POSITION INFO:

Duties & Responsibilities

Facilitate debt collection by sending reminders and engaging with customers on outstanding accounts.
Process receipts accurately using SysPro, ensuring correct allocations.
Open and maintain customer accounts, including managing discounts, terms, and rebates.
Reconcile debtor accounts and resolve discrepancies in the accounts receivable ledger.
Communicate with clients and internal departments to address and resolve invoice/receipt queries.
Maintain detailed records of debtor transactions and distribute monthly statements and supporting documents.
Generate reports on aging, overdue accounts, and escalate defaults where necessary.
Monitor credit limits and ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
Support internal and external audits with relevant documentation.
Provide relief support to reception and manage general admin tasks when needed.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements:

Matric with Maths (essential); Accounting will be advantageous.
Finance-related Diploma/Degree (beneficial).
Minimum 3 years experience in debtor’s management (not as a secondary function)
Proven track record in managing a large debtor’s book and working with multi-region group company accounts.
Stable career history
Strong understanding of financial processes, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.
SysPro experience is essential.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and virtual collaboration tools (MS Teams, Zoom).
Valid driver’s license (Code B) and reliable transport.
