SUMMARY:
Manages the financial records, reporting and internal controls for a specific motor vehicle dealership

POSITION INFO:

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications: A relevant finance degree (BCom in Accounting or Financial Management) or an equivalent tertiary qualification

Experience: 3 to 5 years of financial accounting experience, ideally within a motor dealership or the broader automotive sector

System Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and hands-on experience with industry-specific Dealer Management Systems (DMS), specifically Autoline

Industry Knowledge: Understanding of OEM franchise standards, floorplan financing and motor vehicle retail operations

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and profit-and-loss statements following manufacturer (OEM) standards

Cash Flow Management: Monitor daily bank balances, oversee accounts receivable (debtors) and accounts payable (creditors) and manage floorplan finance facilities

Stock Control: Conduct regular physical vehicle and parts stock counts and reconcile them with the general ledger

Compliance & Tax: Ensure compliance with SARS regulations, including VAT submissions, PAYE and annual income tax audits

Payroll & Commissions: Oversee monthly payroll processing and calculate Sales Executive commissions and incentive bonuses
