SUMMARY:
A Proudly South African organisation is seeking an experienced Data Steward to join its Information Management team. This role is ideal for a data professional passionate about data governance, metadata management, and ensuring the business has access to trusted, high-quality information to support strategic decision-making.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related NQF7 qualification.
Minimum 5 to 8 years' experience in the following:
- Data Governance
- Metadata Management
- Master Data Management
- Business Intelligence
- Data Development
Relevant certification, such as Certified Data Steward, will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain metadata to ensure data is accurate, consistent, secure, and compliant.
Support the acquisition and integration of new data sources.
Ensure published data is discoverable, meaningful, and accessible to stakeholders.
Monitor data usage, relevance, and quality, implementing improvements where required.
Maintain data integrity across systems and resolve data quality issues proactively.
Support information consumers with reliable data and insights for decision-making.
Drive continuous improvement of data management processes, tools, and methodologies.
