POSITION INFO:

My client, a progressive organisation within the information technology space, is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on data science and data-driven product development. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of software engineering, data platforms, and leadership.

The environment is built for developers, modern tooling, collaborative culture, and the freedom to experiment with new technologies. The team is made up of skilled engineers and data specialists working on impactful solutions where scalability, performance, and innovation are key.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers and data professionals within a high-performance culture
Drive delivery of scalable software and data-centric solutions across projects
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define and execute technical strategy
Influence system design, architecture decisions, and engineering best practices
Ensure alignment between technical output and business priorities
Continuously improve team processes, tools, and engineering standard

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Experience:

Proven experience in an Engineering Manager or senior technical leadership role
Strong background in software engineering within data-focused environments
Experience working with or alongside data science teams
Track record of delivering complex, scalable technology solutions

Skills:

Strong understanding of modern software development practices
Experience with relevant programming languages and data technologies (e.g., Python, cloud, data pipelines, specifics to be discussed)
Solid system design and scalable architecture knowledge
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
