POSITION INFO:

Our fabulous Head Office client in Durban is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Data Manager. The successful incumbent will lead the setup, implementation and management of data management systems in line with study protocols and Standard Operating Procedures. Ensure that clinical data management services are delivered in a consistent, high-quality, and timely manner and ensure efficient data flow within the clinical site, by having a continuous oversight of the clinical data.

Qualifications and experience:

- Grade 12
- Relevant degree or 3-year diploma (IT, Computer programming)
- 2 years of data management experience
- Database programming in SQL on any relational database system (e.g. MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle, FoxPro and/or Access); Computer programming language (preferably C-Programming)
- In-depth understanding of data management practices and tools
- Experience in clinical trial environment and clinical data management practices and tools is preferred
- DFdiscover/DataFax or another clinical data management system (e.g. Oracle Clinical, Medidata, Epidata, RedCap) is preferred
- Experience in clinical trial environment and clinical data management practices and tools is preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Administrate Data Management Systems
- Supervise Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform Data Manager Role
- Assist with study setup
- Develop study databases
- Maintain study databases
- Prepare study data reports
- Participate in data management training
- Assist sites with the development and implementation of efficient data management processes

Period: 2-year fixed-term contract

This Organisation is the UNAIDS Collaborating Centre for HIV Prevention and Policy and hosts the DST-NRF Centre of Excellence in HIV Prevention.
