A Data Capturer (Fixed Term Contract) vacancy is available at our Client, Wits Health Consortium's Clinical HIV Research Unit (CHRU) at the Helen Joseph Hospital in Johannesburg - Gauteng.

POSITION INFO:

Background

Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Limited (“WHC“) is a wholly-owned Company of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (South Africa) under its Faculty of Health Sciences. WHC provides Faculty with a legal framework within which to operate the research and other activities necessary to support its academic objectives. In addition, WHC offers a range of products and services to the Academics conducting these activities in order to assist with the management thereof.

Main purpose of the job

• To accurately enter study data and maintain documentation as per the standard operating procedures

Location

• Helen Joseph Hospital, Johannesburg

• Accurate data entry of clinical research data on various data entry systems as required by the sponsor
• Compile source documentation for collection of clinical research data
• Communicate with clinicians and managers to update missing information
• Maintain safe and secure storage of all electronic data and case report forms
• Able to communicate with participants and assist with e-diary issues
• Set up electronic diary application
• Maintain study participant’s confidentiality
• Ensure that GCP guidelines are followed
• Ensure neat and accurate filing of participant files and data queries
• Ensure the security and confidentiality of this sensitive data
• Participate in ongoing Data management training

Required minimum education and training

• Grade 12
• Certification or qualification in a data-related field
• Computer literacy using MS Excel and MS Access

• Must possess strong organizational skills
• Must be detail orientated
• Must be able to work as a member of a team
• It is expected that s/he will apply consistent adherence to intentional research and GCP practices

• At least 1 year of experience in data capturing
• At least 2 years experience working in clinical trials
