Data Analyst

POSITION INFO:

Our client is an electrical manufacturer and importer of low voltage electrical products and is looking for a Data Analyst. You will not be joining a team. You will be the Data Analytics guru and report directly to the CEO. There is no hand-holding and the expectation is to have a deep and thorough understanding of data analytics.

Job Summary:
Support the production and development of all business information for our client, through the collation and analysis of meaningful data to support performance measurement and evaluation. Provide support to the IT Manager and the IT Project Officer in delivering system improvements and implementations

How you can ad value:

The data includes sales and inventory data as well as operations data. You will have a data warehouse (under construction) to work with, but the specific tools you use are open for discussion.

The successful candidate will turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. We need someone to help develop analysis and reporting capabilities.  Monitoring performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.

Qualification:

• Bachelor''s degree with a focus on statistics or analytics.

Knowledge & Experience:

• 3 years+ experience as a Senior/Junior/Data Analyst
• 3 years+ in a low voltage electrical manufacturing and distribution or similar sector is a must

Key Responsibilities

Technical skills – must have a comprehensive knowledge of the following:

• Database languages for example SQL, R, Oracle, MATLAB or Python;
• Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages like Excel, SPSS, SAS to be used for data set analysis.
• Reporting packages like Business Objects, programming (Javascript, XML, or ETL frameworks), databases
• Data visualization software such as Tableau or Qlik
• Mathematical and statistical skills

Leadership skills:

• You must be able to prepare and complete decision-making and problem-solving tasks, and effectively communicate the value of this information
• Part of what you will be expected to do is assist Project Managers to track the most important metrics for their projects, to diagnose problems that may be occurring, and to predict how different courses of action could address a problem.

Reports:

• Create and Edit reports
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of master files (e.g., min max fields)
• Print reports (daily, weekly, monthly)
• Basic analysis of reports. Red flag and resolve anomalies.
• Maintain integrity of data
• Importing and exporting data
