DEMAND BUSINESS ANALYST

POSITION INFO:

About the Role
As part of the Demand team, you will be responsible for category and customer performance data; the
transformation of this into actions and activities as well as the creation and evaluation of market
opportunities through the analysis of multiple data sets.
A high level of knowledge and insight of Commercial metrics and Operational application of Demand (Sales
and Marketing) information and activities is required as the role will focus on:
ï‚· Data analytics, augmented with market trends insights
ï‚· Category management and reporting
ï‚· Channel and Customer reporting
ï‚· Profitability against volume and value growth

What You Will Do
ï‚· Develop insights against market and category trends, and distill these into action plans for the
relevant marketing and sales teams
o Manage and report on Category performance metrics in monthly PMR meeting through
portfolio analyses against shifting market trends
o Manage and report on Customer performance metrics in monthly DMR meeting,
o Assess customer opportunities against competitor sets and identify growth avenues
o
o Activate and track Sales Activities against strategic objectives against forecast and gap
closure actions

ï‚· Alongside the Demand Commercial lead, co-develop and measure promotional execution in trade
and associated ROIs
o Promotional activity tracking against plans, execution and sales uplift
o Analysis of optimal promotional mechanics to drive profitable activities
o Guidance and recommendations to sales teams and trade
ï‚· Support business decision making by establishing automated data reporting and activity tracking to
provide insight against strategic direction
o Work with internal partners to apply sales data to organizational development.
o Examines production, distribution, and marketing systems to identify opportunities for
improvement
ï‚· Support Trade Propositions
o Ensure trade presenters are complete and availavle support portfolio sales in trade
o Develop presentations to communicate new launches; category performances and
opportunities in the market to drive Sir Fruit and Customer growth objectives

ï‚· Be responsible for the Demand Forecast figures from Sales on a weekly basis to Supply to ensure
customers’ product needs are met, as well as managing production capabilities and capacities to
ensure Forecast Accuracy and Bias metrics are managed
Competencies Required:
ï‚· Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including forecasting techniques and applications
ï‚· Action and detail-oriented, with a strong drive for results
ï‚· Ability to form and leverage peer relationships, operating both independently as well as part of the

Education and Experience:
ï‚· Matric with Maths
ï‚· Minimum 3 years’ experience, with a background in consumer market research & insight generation
ï‚· 5 + years’ experience in FMCG retail and on-consumption trade environments
ï‚· Proven experience in developing business performance reports within the Demand environment as
well as generating insights and actions from disparate data sets
ï‚· Strong Business performance
