Creditors Clerk

POSITION INFO:
We are looking for a detail-oriented finance professional with strong accounts payable experience who can manage the full creditors function while ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities: 
Accounts Payable

• Process the full creditors function from invoice receipt through to payment
• Verify supplier invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Capture invoices accurately within the financial system
• Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation
• Ensure invoices are authorised in accordance with company policies
• Allocate invoices to the correct supplier accounts and general ledger codes
• Process weekly supplier payment runs
• Load supplier payments onto the banking platform for approval
• Prepare and distribute remittance advices following payment runs
• Maintain accurate supplier records and filing systems

• Prepare monthly supplier reconciliations
• Reconcile creditor accounts to the Accounts Payable age analysis
• Reconcile general ledger and creditors control accounts
• Maintain an accurate creditors ageing report
• Prepare accrual listings for month-end reporting
• Provide forecasted supplier payments to assist with cash flow planning
• Identify settlement discount opportunities and assist in improving supplier payment efficiencies

• Maintain and update supplier master data
• Process supplier credit applications
• Load new suppliers and banking details onto financial systems
• Ensure supplier information is accurate and up to date

• Assist the finance team with ad hoc accounting duties
• Provide support during month-end processes
• Assist with switchboard relief when required
• Contribute to a collaborative finance team and provide support across the department as needed

• Grade 12 (Matric) 
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Bookkeeping Diploma or higher qualification advantageous
• Minimum 3 years' experience in an Accounts Payable/Creditors role
• Strong understanding of creditors reconciliations, age analysis and general ledger structures
• Experience working on ERP or accounting systems
