SUMMARY:
Credit control isn't just about collecting money. It's about knowing when to push, when to investigate and when to spot the risk before it becomes a problem.

POSITION INFO:
Our client is a fast-growing fintech business where technology, data and smarter processes are changing the way finance operates. They’re looking for an experienced Credit Controller who can do more than manage a debtor book, someone who can strengthen collections, identify risk, improve processes and help keep cash flow moving in the right direction.

This is a high-volume environment where you'll have the opportunity to challenge inefficient processes, improve reporting and bring fresh thinking to the way credit and collections are managed.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct credit checks and onboard new customer accounts
Drive collections against agreed KPIs
Allocate and reconcile customer payments
Manage overdue accounts, payment arrangements, demand letters and account holds
Identify and escalate high-risk and bad debt accounts
Present high-risk accounts to the Risk Committee
Prepare weekly and month-end age analysis reports with commentary
Process debit orders, refunds and adjustment journals
Maintain accurate customer master data
Resolve customer queries and payment-related issues
Support audits and maintain compliance with policies and procedures
Identify and implement opportunities to improve credit processes and efficiencies

Job Experience and Skills:

Degree / National Diploma in Credit Management or Accounting, or Credit Management Certificate Level 4 or 5
5+ years' experience in Credit Control and Credit Risk Management
Strong track record in successful debt collection
Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Accpac or Microsoft Dynamics experience
Intermediate to advanced MS Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
A genuine interest in process improvement and optimisation
Ability to balance firm collections with professional customer relationships
