SUMMARY:

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to manage the full credit control function, ensuring effective risk assessment, timely collections, and accurate account management.

This role works closely with sales teams, branch managers, and internal departments to balance strong collections with maintaining positive client relationships.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Credit Risk Management

Conduct credit risk assessments for new and existing customers
Analyse and interpret credit bureau reports (TransUnion)
Process credit applications and manage credit limits
Liaise with credit insurers (CGIC) for approvals, limit increases, and claims
Monitor customer credit exposure and ensure compliance with credit policies

Collections & Account Management

Execute strategic, tiered collection processes (calls, emails, client visits)
Follow up on overdue accounts while maintaining strong client relationships
Ensure timely recovery of outstanding debt

Dispute Resolution

Investigate and resolve account queries and invoice discrepancies
Liaise with internal departments (sales, service, spares, admin)
Facilitate and follow through on credit note processes where required

Proactive Credit Planning

Engage with sales teams on upcoming projects and large orders
Ensure sufficient credit facilities are in place ahead of order release
Apply for increased credit limits where necessary

Reconciliations & Account Accuracy

Review and verify account allocations and clearing
Perform customer account reconciliations where required
Liaise with shared services teams to correct allocation discrepancies
Ensure all accounts are accurate and up to date

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 4+ years’ experience in a Credit Controller role
Strong understanding of credit risk management and collections
Experience working with credit insurers (CGIC advantageous)
Ability to interpret credit bureau reports (TransUnion)

Systems & Technical Skills

SAP Credit Management
SAP Business One (SAP S/4HANA advantageous)
CGIC systems (credit applications, non-payments, claims)
Strong reconciliation and reporting skills
