Job Description

• Read and interpret structural steel fabrication drawings.
• Extract material lists (BOMs) from engineering designs.
• Calculate total costs for raw materials, labour, and manufacturing.
• Prepare precise and professional written quotes for customers.
• Keep internal pricing spreadsheets and databases up to date.
• Work closely with the production team to check manufacturing needs.
• Talk to the purchasing department to check material prices.
• Keep organized digital files of all your historical quotes.

• The ability to read and understand steel fabrication drawings.
• Experience or training in extracting material lists (BOMs).
• Strong basic math skills and a sharp eye for accuracy.
• Good basic skills in Microsoft Excel for calculations.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
• Experience in the steel fabrication or fastener industry is an advantage but not a dealbreaker.
