POSITION INFO:
Are you a commercially minded Cost Accountant who enjoys getting into the detail behind costs, WIP, inventory and job profitability?
A well-established organisation operating within the mining and industrial manufacturing sector is looking for a Cost Accountant to join their finance team. This is an opportunity to become part of a technical, fast-paced environment where your costing expertise will directly contribute to improved financial control, cost efficiency and business decision-making.
As the Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing and analysing costs across the business, ensuring accurate job costing, effective cost allocation and reliable financial information to support operational decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Performing and reviewing job costing, ensuring all expenses are correctly allocated
Managing WIP and ensuring jobs are closed accurately and timeously
Extracting and analysing job costing data to identify trends and opportunities
Investigating cost variances, shortfalls and profitability across jobs and job types
Maintaining an accurate costing database for trend analysis and future forecasting

Job Experience and Skills Required:
Relevant Accounting or Cost Accounting qualification.
Completed articles are essential
Proven Cost Accounting experience, ideally within mining, manufacturing, engineering or a similarly operational environment
