Company and Job Description:
This organisation operates in the FMCG manufacturing and distribution space, where margins are tight, volumes are high, and stock accuracy is non-negotiable. The Cost Accountant plays a critical role in managing stock control, improving operational efficiencies, and reducing losses by working closely with site leadership and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the full stock control function to minimise losses and variances
Perform daily stock reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
Analyse costs per product and maintain accurate cost accounting methods
Identify waste, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities
Compile financial journals and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Ensure adherence to and continuous improvement of stock-related SOPs
Support annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting at depot/site level
Review route viability and cost-to-serve calculations with sales teams
Perform cashbook reconciliations and month-end depot closures
Analyse expenses and variances against budget with recommendations
Maintain full financial reporting and depot balancing
Supervise depot admin staff and oversee depot stock controls
Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures at the depot

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Cost Accounting Degreea or CIMA qualification
3–4 years’ experience in a Cost Accountant role
2–4 years’ experience within an FMCG environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
