POSITION INFO:

A highly respected and quality-driven operation in the agri-processing and production space is looking for a Cost Accountant to bring structure, insight, and discipline to their costing function. Based in the Stellenbosch / Cape Town area, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in details, understands production environments, and enjoys translating activity into accurate cost intelligence.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring that costing models truly reflect operational reality - supporting decision-making, pricing, and performance across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and manage Activity-Based Costing (ABC) models
Maintain and analyse Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Track and analyse production costs and cost drivers
Support pricing, margin analysis, and operational decision-making
Monitor variances and investigate cost deviations
Work closely with operations and production teams to ensure costing accuracy
Support budgeting and forecasting from a cost perspective
Ensure costing data integrity and reporting accuracy

Job Experience and Skills Required:

BCom degree (required)
5+ years’ experience in a cost accounting role
Strong exposure to ABC costing methodologies
Hands-on experience with BOM structures
Background in manufacturing, production, or agri-processing environments
Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
Ability to translate operational activity into meaningful financial insight
Confident communicator who works well across departments
