Coordinator (clothing)

SUMMARY:
Dynamic local Clothing Manufacturer requires experienced Coordinator for their busy CMT operation, based in Pinetown (dbn).

POSITION INFO:

Costing and Development

• To work closely with the Merchandiser, Customer, and Production team.
• Responsible for communicating and coordinating to ensure smooth flow of all approvals and processes during order confirmation and leading up to production of confirmed orders.
• To be briefed by the Merchandiser on new enquiries.
• Work with Merchandiser to assist with obtaining pricing for costings (when required).

Approvals and Fit Samples

• Arrange fabric quality swatches and lab dyes (if required).
• Chase Customer for Illustrator files for prints.
• Send Ai print files to Trotter Road team to do strike offs and follow up / chase.
• Receive strike offs and check they are correct as per brief (Merchandiser to sign off).
• Follow up with Merchandiser for any special trims requiring approval.
• Submit strike offs, trims, etc to Customer and follow up for timeous approval comments.
• Feedback approval comments for strike offs, trims, etc to Merchandiser.
• Request fabric for Fits based on the fabric BOM (in costing file) and timeline.
• Request sampling for Transfers and any other special trims.
• Follow up with Production Coordinator to receive all sampling on time.
• Handover tech pack to Patternmaker for making up Fit samples.
• Receive and handover sampling fabric and transfers, labels, washcares (can pull from stock).
• Follow up with Patternmaker to chase Fit sample make up in sample room.
• Attend fit sessions (with Patternmaker, QA, Merchandiser) to assess Fit samples.
• Follow up to ensure timeous Fit comments/approval.
• Responsible for reading Fit comments carefully and discussing any changes required by Customer with the Merchandiser, Patternmaker, and QA (fit approval team).
• Once Fit samples are approved, print and handover Fit workbook to Patternmaker for PP make up.

PP / Seal Samples

• Request sampling fabric, transfers, trims, etc for PP seals.
• Follow up with Production Coordinator to receive all sampling on time.
• Receive and handover sampling fabric, trims, transfers, labels, washcares for Seals to be made up.
• Attend fit sessions (with Patternmaker, QA, Merchandiser) to assess Seal samples.
• Follow up with Patternmaker and Customer for timeous PP/Seal comments/approval.
• Responsible for reading Seal comments carefully and discussing any changes required by Customer with the Merchandiser, Patternmaker, and QA (fit approval team).
• Once Seal samples are approved, print and handover workbook to Patternmaker.
• Follow up to receive Seal sample back from Customer and handover to Patternmaker.
• Liaise with the Merchandiser, Customer, and Production Team at all times to communicate instructions and feedback progress on both sides.
