Contract Accountant

The Contract Accountant will support the head of finance with various projects and report to the CFO and MD with recommendations on improvements to processes. This is an on-site position.

• Prepare the profit payments to the stores for the overdue amounts
• Clean up the transactions in the AP that have had manual interventions ie
  • New stock ordered – Due to manual order, some were processed against Incorrect Customer – Need to manually look up and reassign
  • Cancelled orders. Manually reverse some of the automatic transactions processed
  • Document the current process for CLC payments and assist with an SOP / work instruction for weekly payments going forward.
  • Training of the respective creditor’s controller in the new process and supervision for the first payment runs until sufficiently capable
• Supplier reconciliations from Supplier statement to AP balance
• full reconciliation of each supplier is required
  • This includes the GRN accrual control account which doesn’t balance to the GRN report from Syspro
    • There are legacy amounts in the GRN report which need to be cleaned out from Syspro to ensure the report balances to the control account.
  • We have been matching the Invoices to the GRNs, but all variances have not been resolved. 
  • Document the current process for product order management, cross docking, billing to the stores, payments of suppliers and supplier reconciliations and assist with an SOP / work instruction for payments and reconciliations going forward.

• age analysis needs to be reconciled to all supplier recons
• The workload needs to be balanced between the 2 controllers and SOP’s / Work Instructions documented
• Training of the respective creditor’s controllers

Requirements:

Technical – Knowledge of accounting principles related to accounts payables and accounts receivables. Knowledge of foreign currencies.

Technological – Working knowledge of MS Office Suite. Intermediate proficiency in Excel. Ability to become proficient in organization’s various systems.

Tertiary Accounting Qualification, SAIPA Registered, plus 5 years Financial Accounting Experience
