CONTENT CREATOR/COPYWRITER

Introduction

An educational software company located in Pretoria is seeking an imaginative Content Creator/Copywriter with between 2-5 years’ experience to join their versatile marketing team.

Job Purpose

• Responsible for the creation of high quality, original animations, illustrations as well as photos and videos that can be used throughout all apps, websites, social media, and corporate image and stationery.
• Responsible for producing copy that is engaging, clear and accurate for marketing material and advertising channels, including but not limited to: websites; emails; print ads; digital ads; social media and catalogues.

Requirements

Minimum education (essential)

• Matric
• Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or equivalent
• Diploma in Languages / Journalism

Minimum education (desirable)

• Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or equivalent
• Degree in Languages / Journalism

Minimum applicable experience (years)

• 2 - 5 years

Skills and Knowledge (essential)

• Adobe Suite including Illustrator and After Effects.
• Strong computer skills and excellent knowledge of Google Suite.
• Extensive knowledge of camera systems.
• Proficient on Mac OS.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom and Capture One Pro.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.
• English first language
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite / Google Suite
• Excellent writing skills

Other

• A portfolio of evidence would be required with application.

Copywriting 40%

• Conceptualise, maintain and create updated, high-quality content for all marketing and communication platforms and campaigns.
• Send all information/content to Head before launch on social media.
• Compile and manage internal marketing collateral. (ie newsletter)
• Conduct keyword research.
• Liaise with the design team timeously to create artwork.

Social Media Campaigns 30%

• Develop social media strategy together with the Marketing Head.
• Coordinate social media calendar in line with the social media strategy.
• Write content for posts across all platforms.
• Coordinate with the Design team to ensure content for the campaign is ready on time.
• Respond to comments within 24hrs across all social media channels.
• Increase followers and engagement.
• Conduct SEO keyword research.

Public Relations 30%

• Identify journalists and publications.
• Develop and maintain a database of journalists and PR agencies.
• Occasionally draft press releases.

Salary Offered

R 20 000 – R 25 000 CTC
