Construction Health & Safety Manager

Kimberley, Northern Cape

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of all health and safety functions on a major project based in Kimberley, Northern Cape. This opportunity is suited to a professional who understands that safety is not a compliance exercise but a culture that influences every decision made on site.
You will play a critical role in driving health and safety standards, ensuring legislative compliance, managing risk, and fostering an environment where every individual returns home safely at the end of each day.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all health and safety activities across the construction project.
Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction Regulations, and project-specific requirements.
Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, systems, and procedures.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventative actions.
Facilitate health and safety training, inductions, and awareness programmes.
Engage with contractors, site teams, and stakeholders to promote a proactive safety culture.
Compile and maintain all required compliance documentation and reporting.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and client representatives where required.

Requirements

Relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
Registration with SACPCMP as a Construction Health and Safety Professional or Candidate CHS Professional.
Proven experience within the construction or projects environment.
Strong knowledge of South African health and safety legislation and construction regulations.
Demonstrated ability to implement and manage comprehensive health and safety systems on site.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work on-site in Kimberley, Northern Cape.
