SUMMARY:
Role Purpose
The Construction Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, within budget, and according to required quality standards. The role provides leadership to site personnel, subcontractors, and trades teams while ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision and Project Execution
Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities across multiple project areas
Oversee civil works, warehouse construction, shed building, utility installations, and related infrastructure projects
Interpret and implement construction drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, and project plans
Ensure all work is completed according to approved designs, project schedules, and quality standards
Monitor site progress and ensure project milestones are achieved within agreed timelines
Identify and resolve construction challenges to minimise delays and disruptions
Team Leadership and Coordination
Supervise site workers, subcontractors, trades personnel, and equipment operators
Allocate daily tasks and monitor workforce productivity
Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to junior site personnel
Coordinate activities between different trades and contractors to ensure efficient workflow
Promote teamwork, accountability, and adherence to site procedures
Monitor workforce performance and address any operational concerns
Health, Safety and Compliance
Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and company safety procedures
Conduct daily toolbox talks and site safety briefings
Perform regular site inspections to identify and mitigate safety risks
Ensure compliance with construction standards, building regulations, and project requirements
Investigate and report safety incidents, hazards, and near misses
Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities
Resource and Equipment Management
Monitor the use of construction materials, equipment, and tools
Ensure machinery and equipment are operated safely and maintained appropriately
Coordinate material requirements and ensure adequate resources are available to maintain productivity
Control material usage and minimise waste
Monitor equipment utilisation and report maintenance requirements where necessary
Quality Control and Reporting
Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets required quality standards
Identify defects, non-conformances, or construction issues and implement corrective actions
Maintain accurate daily site reports, progress records, and activity logs
Provide regular project updates to management on progress, challenges, and resource requirements
Ensure project documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time
General Responsibilities
Support the successful delivery of infrastructure and capital projects
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards
Perform any additional duties reasonably required to support project objectives
Maintain professional relationships with internal departments, contractors, and service providers
POSITION INFO:
Role Requirements
Trade Qualification in Carpentry, Masonry, Civil Construction, or a related field
Certificate or Diploma qualification will be advantageous
Minimum 7 years’ construction experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or foreman role
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools, and equipment
Sound understanding of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements
Experience managing construction teams, subcontractors, and contractors
Ability to interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
Strong planning, organisational, and coordination skills
Experience within agricultural or poultry infrastructure projects will be advantageous
