SUMMARY:
Datacentrix is looking for a Configuration Administrator is responsible for the updating of CI information received from Operations into the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for Installations, Moves, Additions, Changes and Decommissions (IMACD). The role will perform validation and verification activities to ensure existing data accurately reflects the Customer infrastructure and provide reports out of the CMDB.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements:

4 years’ experience in an IT environment within a Configuration Administration capacity

Responsibilities:

Ensure Configuration Item (CI) information provided by Operations is within the scope of the CMDB and accurately updated and maintained in the CMDB within 24 hours of the information receipted via the Service Management System or Discovery Tools and the current status of the CI reflects the physical status of the CI in the operational infrastructure.
On an ongoing basis, review adherence to the standard processes and procedures to identify any non-conformances and escalate those to the relevant business managers
Perform CI validation exercises by IMACD call searches in the Service Management System to identify any IMACD information changes that were not directed to the CMDB team.
Use the information provided through the various Discovery or Monitoring Tools to validate CMDB accuracy and escalate non-conformances identified back to the Operations Team to investigate.
Provide reports on CMDB contents through automated reporting and escalates any ad hoc report requests to the CMDB Manager
