SUMMARY:
Intermediate Compressor Technician

Our client based in the East Rand, Gauteng is looking for a young, energetic and hands on compressor technician to join their fast-growing team. My client specializes in the vacuum pump industry across 27 sectors including the medical industry. Our client is prepared to look at either intermediate technician and / or junior technician who is willing to be hands on and learn on the job.
The ideal candidate must be willing to travel, work on site and in the workshop

Duties include but not limited to:

• Maintaining the machinery used in the shop, including cutting tools, die grinders, lathes, milling machines, and other equipment
• Installing compressors in new facilities or replacing existing equipment in existing facilities
• Reviewing blueprints and sketches to determine equipment specifications
• Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and filter replacements
• Repairing leaking valves, broken hoses, damaged pumps, and other mechanical parts
• Installing new equipment or replacing old equipment with newer technology as needed
• Repairing equipment that has been damaged by fire, flood, or other natural disasters
• Installing and repairing air conditioners, heaters, humidifiers, and other equipment used to control environmental conditions in buildings
• Inspecting equipment to identify potential safety hazards or other issues that could lead to equipment failure

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications:

• Matric and / or N3 qualification in a technical field
• Fluent in English / Afrikaans
• Valid driver’s license
• 5-4 years in a similar position

• Ability to work under pressure
• Accurate with attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Willing to learn on the job
• Follow instructions
• Problem solving skills
• Work within a diverse team
