POSITION INFO:

Purpose of the position:

The Compliance Management Specialist will be responsible for supporting, implementing and continuously improving the organisation''''s compliance management framework. The position ensures that business operations, processes and practices comply with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, internal policies, contractual obligations and corporate governance standards.

The role involves identifying and assessing compliance risks, monitoring regulatory developments, evaluating the effectiveness of compliance controls, conducting compliance reviews, managing compliance issues and providing specialist guidance to business units and management.

Major Compulsory Responsibilities

1. Compliance Management Framework
• To support compliance officer to establish the framework.
2. Regulatory Compliance &Monitoring
• Monitor changes in legislation, regulations, regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Assess the impact of regulatory changes on business operations and processes.
• Communicate relevant regulatory changes to affected business units and stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of new regulatory requirements.
• Monitor business compliance with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies.
• Maintain regulatory obligations register where applicable.
3 Compliance Risk Management
• Identify, assess and monitor compliance risks across the organisation.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and control assessments.
• Maintain and update the compliance risk register.
• Identify potential areas of regulatory or policy non-compliance.

• Develop and monitor risk mitigation and corrective action plans.
• Escalate significant compliance risks to appropriate management.
• Support the integration of compliance risk management with the broader enterprise risk management framework.
4. Compliance Monitoring & Assessment
• Develop and execute compliance monitoring plans.
• Conduct compliance reviews, assessments and control testing.
• Review business processes and transactions to identify compliance gaps.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of existing compliance controls.
• Document findings, risks and recommendations.
• Follow up on outstanding findings and corrective actions.
• Track and report on the resolution of compliance issues.
5. Contract Review
• To review compliance terms in the contract.
6. Policies, Procedures & Internal Controls
• Review policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory and legal requirements.
• Identify gaps or weaknesses in compliance controls.
• Recommend enhancements to internal controls and business processes.
• Assist business units in developing appropriate compliance procedures.
• Ensure that policies are communicated and implemented effectively.
• Support periodic reviews and updates of compliance documentation.
7. Compliance Reporting
• Prepare regular compliance reports, dashboards and management information.
• Provide management with information regarding compliance risks, trends, breaches and outstanding actions.
• Analyse compliance monitoring results and identify recurring issues.
• Prepare reports for relevant governance, risk and compliance committees.
• Maintain accurate and auditable compliance records.
8. Compliance Breaches & Investigations
• Identify, record and monitor compliance breaches and incidents.
• Support investigations into suspected regulatory or policy violations.
• Conduct root-cause analysis of compliance incidents.
• Recommend corrective and preventative actions.
• Monitor the implementation of agreed remedial actions.
• Escalate material breaches in accordance with established procedures.
9. Training & Awareness
• Develop and coordinate compliance awareness programmes.
• Provide guidance to employees and management regarding compliance requirements.
• Assist in developing compliance training materials.

• Promote awareness of ethical conduct, regulatory requirements and organisational policies.

• Monitor completion of mandatory compliance training where applicable.

• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to analyse data and identify compliance trends and risks.

Required Education / Qualifications:

• Bachelor''''s degree in Law, Compliance, Risk Management, Auditing, Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Governance or a related field.
• Advantageous Qualifications: Postgraduate qualification in Compliance,Anti-bribery and corruption, Data Protection, Risk Management, Corporate Governance, Law, Auditing or a related discipline.
Required Experience
• 2–4 years'''' experience in compliance, risk management, internal audit, governance, legal, regulatory affairs or a related environment.
