SUMMARY:
Commercial & Domestic Underwriter

POSITION INFO:

We are looking for an experienced Commercial & Domestic Underwriter to join our team. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of commercial and domestic short-term insurance clients, provide technically sound advice, negotiate competitive terms with insurers, and ensure excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities

Obtain and negotiate new business quotations with insurers.
Prepare quotation comparisons and recommendations for clients.
Manage an allocated portfolio of commercial and domestic clients.
Handle renewals, endorsements, cancellations and policy amendments.
Review risks, cover, policy wordings and underwriting requirements.
Liaise with clients and insurers on a daily basis.
Identify opportunities for additional cover and portfolio growth.
Assist with claims and risk-related matters when required.
Maintain accurate documentation, records and compliance.
Take ownership of outstanding matters and ensure deadlines are met.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within an independent insurance brokerage.
RE5 qualification.
Relevant Class of Business and insurance qualification.
FAIS compliant and able to provide advice without supervision.
Strong knowledge of commercial and domestic short-term insurance.
Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.
