The Collections Consultant plays a crucial role in working with customers to resolve outstanding debts, either through negotiated payment plans or lump-sum settlements. This position requires strong negotiation and communication skills, as well as the ability to explain the benefits of settling debts. Patience and persistence are essential, as customers may be reluctant or difficult to reach. The role involves handling both inbound and outbound communications across calls and emails, offering customer-friendly solutions, and keeping accurate records of all interactions and payment agreements.

POSITION INFO:
In addition to negotiating repayments, consultants must monitor payment schedules, send reminders, resolve billing issues, and update account statuses once balances are settled. They are expected to demonstrate professionalism, quick learning, and the ability to manage time effectively in a high-pressure environment. Previous experience in telemarketing is beneficial, and strong interpersonal skills are necessary to build rapport with customers. Based in Cape Town, this position is customer-facing and contributes directly to improving the company’s collection performance through consistent, respectful, and strategic engagement with clients.
