Collections Agent – Credit Card Late Stage

Location: Pretoria East
Salary: R9 000 – R10 000 per month, depending on experience

Ergasia Placements is recruiting an experienced Collections Agent – Credit Card Late Stage on behalf of a reputable organisation within the legal and financial services environment.
We are specifically looking for candidates with recent personal credit card collections experience within a major banking environment. The successful candidate must be confident dealing with difficult debtors, negotiating payment arrangements and working within a high-pressure collections environment.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

3–5 years’ recent Standard Bank personal Credit Card Collections experience.
Experience working on Excalibur, preferably Excalibur 4.
Good understanding of the banking and/or financial services environment.
Familiarity with the legal collections process.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation and active listening skills.
Ability to remain professional, tactful and patient when dealing with difficult debtors.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing late-stage personal credit card collections, engaging with debtors to secure appropriate payment resolutions and ensuring matters are handled professionally and effectively.
The role will include:

Contacting and engaging with debtors regarding outstanding credit card accounts.
Negotiating realistic payment arrangements and resolutions.
Managing challenging debtor interactions professionally.
Applying knowledge of the legal collections process where applicable.
Accurately capturing and updating information on the relevant collections system.
Following up on payment commitments and outstanding arrangements.
Maintaining clear and accurate records of debtor engagements.
Working towards required collections targets and operational deadlines.
