Cloud Architect – Reporting to the Group CIO

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, business information systems or related field. (Please attach all relevant qualifications)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum of 3-5+ year’s recent diverse experience in systems analysis and software development or a similar role in a medium to large organisation. Technical certifications preferred. Certification in

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

• Create a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaption process
• Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware and software
• Develop and organise cloud systems
• Work closely with IT security to monitor the company’s cloud privacy
• Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner
• Offer guidance in infrastructure movement techniques including bulk application transfers into the cloud
• Identify the top cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the company
• Understanding of the architecture design, processes, concepts and best practices
  • Good knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, methods, and tools, network and security technologies
  • Experience working on server hardware and virtualization technologies and cloud technologies (Azure, etc.)
  • Sound knowledge of database server infrastructure technologies and high availability infrastructure designs and methodologies
  • Experience in systems monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning and application architecture.
  • Experience with Office 365 platform
  • Able to adapt vocabulary and style for each situation; able to represent complex ideas with effective documents and visuals and to adapt presentations to the expectations and background of the audience
  • Extensive collaboration and stakeholder management skills - able to work effectively with others on common tasks; build rapport, gain support, instil confidence, find common ground; negotiate win-win

    • Understanding of horse racing and gambling industry knowledge will be beneficial
