SUMMARY:

Join a dynamic team of Consulting Engineers.

POSITION INFO:
Clerk of Works - KwaZulu-Natal

Duties:

Check and confirm that construction work undertaken is in compliance with engineering designs, health and safety specifications, relevant regulations, standards and legislation as well as quality control procedures
Interpret engineering designs and sketches
Coordination and planning of construction activities
Record keeping of work completed and compliance/non-compliance thereof
Sign off on portions of work completed to specification
Keep daily logs, including photographs taken during construction
Issue violation notices and stop-orders where construction, materials or safety regulations do not comply
Reporting
Oversee the work of the contractors on site
Advise and guide contractors in respect of the relevant designs, regulations, standards and legislation, OHS Specifications
Compilation of payment documentation
Ensure effective contract administration
Timeous reporting on problems emanating from the construction process and related issues

Requirements:

A National Diploma or equivalent
Registration as an Engineering Technician or Technologist with ECSA
2-5 years' experience in a similar role in the built environment, specifically water treatment plants and civil and building construction
A valid driver’s licence
Computer literacy in MS Office and Project Software Suite
