Chef de Partie

SUMMARY:
A well-established hotel/guesthouse in Durbanville is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a specific kitchen section, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation, and maintaining excellent hygiene and food safety standards.
This role is ideal for a dedicated chef who thrives in a structured yet fast-paced hospitality environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for designated kitchen section (e.g., hot kitchen, breakfast, grill, pastry, etc.)
• Prepare and present high-quality dishes in line with the establishment’s standards
• Ensure consistent portion control and minimal wastage
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with health & safety regulations
• Assist in stock control, stock rotation (FIFO), and inventory management
• Monitor food quality and freshness
• Work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef
• Assist with menu preparation and seasonal menu changes where required
• Ensure all equipment is used and maintained correctly

• Relevant culinary qualification (preferred)
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef ready for promotion
• Experience in a hotel or guesthouse environment advantageous
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Own transport (preferred due to location)
• Ability to work well under pressure
