Cattle Feedlot Section Manager - Senekal (Free State)

SUMMARY:
A reputable and well-established agricultural company with established cattle feedlot operations is seeking an experienced Cattle Feedlot Section Manager to oversee efficient feedlot operations, animal performance, feeding programmes and overall livestock productivity.

POSITION INFO:

The main purpose of this position is to take responsibility for managing daily feedlot operations including livestock feeding programs and all aspects of the management of cattle.

Requirements:

• B.SC Agriculture or B Agriculture Degree
• Experience in Cattle Farming
• Experience in farm maintenance
• Computer literate
• Ability to motivate and work with staff
• Strong communication skills
• Good planning and organizational skills

Duties and responsibilities:

• Day-to-day running and management of the cattle in your Section
• Stay up to date on industry trends and technical knowledge
• Understand nutritional requirements for livestock
• Receive, inspect and transfer livestock
• Assist in accurate recordkeeping of livestock activities
• Influence a positive workforce environment by following safety policies and modelling safe work practices
• Follow safety and health standards
• Any other duties that may be delegated by line management with the purpose of meeting the feedlot objectives.
